Bio

A committed rural citizen and ardent defender of human equality. Krystel is a feminist illustrator. Born in Quebec and spoiled more than necessary by our consumer society. As an adult, she served the community as an agricultural producer, mother and creator of impactful illustrations. Her artistic career began in 2021 with her first group exhibition at the Centre d'art Napoléon-Bourassa in Montebello. Since then, there have been several exhibitions and numerous multidisciplinary artistic collaborations. This contemporary artist uses her art, among other things, to build relationships with community organizations that work with vulnerable clienteles.

Artistic Approach

''My art is intended to be a driving force for the empowerment of women and their allies. It develops in symbiosis with my seasonal work. It is rooted in the territory, the community and ecofeminist issues. I like to call my work feminist propaganda since I dream of the day when it will become a simple outdated ornament, a relic of a bygone era. At the center of my interests is the promotion of the clitoris, an organ forgotten by science and mistreated by religion. I add to this a look at body diversity and the right to body autonomy. Finally, I educate myself on the role of females in nature and try to integrate biomimetic proposals into my creations. I like to play with the contrasts of macro and micro, to draw parallels between the environment and the human body and to let the observer determine the element(s) of their personal story that relates to the proposed visual story.''
